If you have had the opportunity to attend one of the many fantastic events and functions in and around Horowhenua, they may be the work of our Community & Civic Events Coordinator. We have a unique opportunity for a fabulous enthusiastic person to join our team and make an impact within our community. 

The Community & Civic Events Coordinator plans, promotes and event manages Council delivered civic events and events delivered within and around Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō, Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom, Aquatics, Council Chambers and events across the district.

You will need to be flexible in order to support the after-hours events and bookings. Preferably, you will have a relevant qualification and practical cultural competency.  As part of the wider Cultural and Community Centres Team, your ability to build relationships and desire to “go the extra mile” will make an impact on our customers and keep them coming back to use our facilities. As the successful applicant, you will excel in this role through your proven experience in bookings, events, and project or facility management and in administrative support.

You will assist in developing, promoting and delivering exhibitions,  displays, events, projects, facilities and performances. Working with other focus areas, groups, and organisations to ensure that all events and programmes are effectively planned, coordinated and delivered you will be a valued and integral part of our team and its success.

As the successful applicant, you will have a passion for providing outstanding service, the ability to build rapport quickly with a variety of people, be highly organised and creative.
