Horowhenua District Council is urgently seeking an experienced and passionate Development Engineer looking for a new challenge within our Housing and Business Development Team.

He angitūtanga - The opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that council’s infrastructure interests are protected through subdivision and land development processes and that development plans for assets are produced in a proactive manner, ensuring assets created through development projects are updated in the asset management systems.

He kōrero mōu - About you

We are looking for someone with great communication skills and be adept at building relationships with internal and external contractors, consultants and customers; ideally well versed in legislation and local government procedures and policies.

You will hold a Professional Engineering Qualification – preferably in civil engineering or a related field and have some post qualification experience. We are open to considering candidates from a junior to a senior level. Ideally you will have experience in the design and assessment of subdivision and land use consent applications, earthworks for land development, roading (urban and rural), drainage (storm water and sewerage reticulation) and water supply reticulation.
