We are urgently seeking an experienced and passionate Development Engineer ready to step up into a senior role and take on new challenges within our Housing and Business Development Team. We are looking for someone who is naturally a people person with leadership tendencies who is interested in long-term growth and development opportunities.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that council’s infrastructure interests are protected through subdivision and land development processes and that development plans for assets are produced in a proactive manner, ensuring assets created through development projects are updated in the asset management systems.

We are seeking an individual with exceptional engagement and communication skills who excels at building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external contractors, consultants, and customers. The ideal candidate will be outcome-focused and solution-oriented, with a strong understanding of legislation and local government procedures and policies. They should also be adept at collaborating with customers to achieve the best possible outcomes.
You will hold a Professional Engineering Qualification – preferably in civil engineering or a related field and have some post qualification experience. We are open to considering candidates from a junior to a senior level. Ideally you will have experience in the design and assessment of subdivision and land use consent applications, earthworks for land development, roading (urban and rural), drainage (storm water and sewerage reticulation) and water supply reticulation.
