Are you looking for a hands-on role where every day makes a tangible difference to your local community? As a Network Serviceperson with Horowhenua District Council, you will take charge of operating, maintaining, and repairing our essential water supply, wastewater, and stormwater networks. From responding to urgent reactive maintenance and water bursts to supporting vital infrastructure projects, this dynamic position keeps you active and engaged. Once fully trained, you will also play a key role in our after-hours response roster, ensuring our district remains safe and resilient around the clock.
He kōrero mōu – About You
You are a practical, resilient individual with proven experience in a similar field, civil construction, or water reticulation. Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, you bring a strong commitment to health, safety, and operational excellence. Ideally, you hold a Class 1 driver licence (Class 2 and RTW are a distinct advantage), alongside familiarity with traffic management or confined spaces.
Above all, you possess exceptional customer service skills, are a great team player that steps in to the team helping in the day and on call; have a collaborative attitude, and a genuine drive to build positive relationships across our community and local iwi stakeholders.
