Aquatics Horowhenua opened its doors in 1990 and since then it has been continuously growing and expanding. We offer a variety of activities such as learn to swim, aquacise, fitness training, swim and water sports clubs as well as recreational water fun including inflatables and the hydro slide. About the role
A great opportunity has come up for experienced and qualified Lifeguards and/or Leaders who are serious about growing and taking on more responsibilities by becoming a Poolside Team Leader.
As a Poolside Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of your shift, by managing the service delivery and leading the operations team. You will be responsible for the operations of the facility during your rostered shift, ensuring customer satisfaction, asset protection, legislative and industry compliance, increasing team member productivity and ensuring good communication and information sharing with team members.
You will also play a key role in improving our safety culture and services, and provide feedback, advice and input to the management team. You will bring a background in Aquatics, ideally with demonstrated experience working in a supervisory/team leader role. Above all you will be passionate about leading your team to deliver a great customer experience.
We are open 7 days a week, including public holidays, and our roster offers shifts between the hours of 5:30am and 9:30pm, at our local centres in Levin, Foxton, and Shannon.
About You
It is essential that you have extensive poolside experience supported by a Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate, a current First Aid Certificate, a full current driver's license, a clean criminal record, and are able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
In addition, we require broad experience in:
-Plant Room
-Health & Safety
-Staff training and supervising
-Poolside duties
-Leadership
You would have an advantage if you can offer additional qualifications in:
-Chemical handling
-Pool water treatment
-Aquatics Level 3 or higher
-Skills Active Assessor certified
